The Crafty Black Dog is a small business that offers unique and handcrafted military gifts to celebrate war heroes.

Despite having a high-quality product offering, they struggled to establish themselves within the industry and acquire new customers.

The challenge

After an initial consultation (where our experts take the time to speak with the client and learn about their business and objectives), it was clear we needed to focus on growing The Crafty Black Dog’s customer base and increasing the number of sales through their Google Ads campaigns.

Following this, our experts got to work right away by conducting further research and getting an understanding of their target audience.

Our strategy

Our strategy began with in-depth keyword research, to decide which keywords to use within the ad campaign – this is extremely important because choosing the right keywords can help your ads to appear in the right searches on Google; placing your business in front of the right people!

The team also analysed locations to find specific military places in the UK – they could then target these locations with the ads.

As they gathered more data, over time, the team could strategise and build campaigns that worked best for certain products – maximising their return.

The implementation of Performance Max campaigns also helped to increase their products’ visibility on Google’s Display Networks, like YouTube and Gmail.

The results

The results were outstanding!

Before onboarding with our team, The Crafty Black Dog was averaging only three orders per month in June 2022, with a revenue of £166.97 and an average order value (AOV) of £55.66.

However, in just five months, they exceeded their two-year sales target!

In November 2022, the business generated 200 orders online, with a revenue of £6,274.31 and an AOV of £31.37.

In December 2022, they achieved 149 orders with a revenue of £4,284.11 and an AOV of £28.75.

This is a great foundation to build on and continue to grow their business into the future.
