GrowDudes is a Canadian-based business that sells a range of indoor gardening, hydroponics, and sustainable living products through their online store.
Jean-Michel Barbier (Owner of GrowDudes) approached Add People in March 2023, seeking help with making their current Google Ads campaigns more profitable.

The challenge
GrowDudes already had a Performance Max campaign running on Google Ads, however, it was clear to our team that the targeting on this campaign was not set up in the most effective way – there was an opportunity for improvement and to use their budget more efficiently.
Whilst their return on ad spend (ROAS) for this campaign was at a relatively good level, their campaign wasn’t growing sustainably and contributing to the overall growth of the business.
Our strategy
Communication was going to be key, here!
GrowDudes’s account manager, Kit Giroux, consulted regularly with Jean-Michel to gain a greater understanding of their products and the types of customers who purchase them.
From here, Kit began segmenting the best-performing products into their own Performance Max campaigns and optimising them to target a more relevant audience – people who would be most interested in these products.
The majority of the ad budget was used on these best-performing products, helping them to scale the campaigns more efficiently.
The results
The results have been remarkable!
Since the new ads went live in March 2023, GrowDudes have actually reduced their ad spend by 22% but seen an increase in revenue by 15%!
More results:
– 56% increase in revenue through the website (year-on-year)
– 811% return on ad spend (ROAS)
– 68% increase in conversion rate
– 12% increase in returning customers
– 37% increase in total orders (year-on-year)
– 8% decrease in traffic, but this indicates that the visitors who are coming on the site are more valuable and more likely to convert into customers.
Following the back of this success, GrowDudes are looking at expanding their marketing strategy with Add People, by working to increase their local in-store sales with lead generation advertising.
