CSC Fuel Cards provides tailor-made fuel card solutions to thousands of businesses across the UK and Ireland.

Whilst already using Add People for our PPC (pay per click) services, they decided to expand their marketing strategy with our Social Media team.

They were looking to start running social media ads with the aim of increasing the number of leads for their service.

The challenge

Because CSC Fuel Cards are a B2B service, it was important to avoid creating an audience that was too broad, so that precious budget would not be wasted on users that were irrelevant to their target audience.

Therefore, the main challenge was ensuring that the campaigns were targeting the right sort of people that would be interested in their fuel cards.

Our strategy

The Social Media team set up a Lead Generation campaign on Facebook and Instagram – which does exactly what it says on the tin; its aim is to generate leads through ads on Facebook and Instagram.

Using demographics and the audience tools on Facebook and Instagram, the team were able to create targeted audiences – with a focus on business owners.

By targeting specific job titles, such as, ‘haulage’, ‘logistics’, ‘truck/lorry drivers’, etc. the ads could be shown to people who use or own vehicles for business purposes – a perfect fit for CSC Fuel Card’s services.

The results

After only the first two weeks of launching the campaigns, CSC Fuel Cards received 218 leads through the ads.

And, crucially, 90% of these leads converted into deals!

This wasn’t just a ‘flash in the pan’…

…To date, the campaigns continue to drive relevant traffic to the CSC Fuel Cards website, generating around 500 new monthly visitors to their site and a total of 141,831 impressions across Facebook and Instagram.

On some days, they even asked to pause the ads, as it was hard to keep up with the sheer volume of leads coming in!

This is just one success story that shows that – if used correctly and with the right expertise – social media ads can be such a powerful tool for businesses.
